Frequently asked questions
Answers about entering a name, the calculations, the English interface, and privacy.
Can I enter a name in Latin letters?
This tool calculates Korean names using Hanja strokes and Hangul readings. The English interface translates instructions and stories; it does not turn arbitrary Latin spelling into Hanja. You can try the example or enter known Hanja directly and review each Korean reading.
Why must I choose Hanja?
One Hangul syllable can correspond to many characters with different counts. Selecting the intended character is therefore part of the input. The site does not invent a character or dictionary entry when a supported match is missing.
Why does another site give different results?
Counting conventions, virtual-stroke rules, name grouping, and interpretation can differ. Compare the formula shown on each card before comparing stories. This service does not claim to implement a complete 81-number good-or-bad fortune system.
Are names and readings stored?
Inputs and results are processed in the browser; the app has no server-side storage feature for them. A reload clears the reading. Copy includes the name in your device clipboard, so choose any recipient yourself. Advertising and hosting may involve their own processing, described separately in the privacy policy.
Can I use it without an ancestral seat or visible ads?
The ancestral seat is optional; all five grids work without it. The calculator also remains available when ads are not displayed or an ad blocker is used. Using the reading does not require clicking an advertisement or accepting personalized advertising.
